There are a number of beautifully crafted and high-performance smartphones set to hit the market in 2016. Consumers can look forward to taking high-quality photos in low-light settings, crisp views and sleek, lightweight bodies that have a truly modern look and feel. Best of all, there are even a number of budget-friendly designs that are set to roll out in the common month. Following are three, brief reviews that will help you choose the best new Android smartphone 2016.
Samsung Galaxy S7
The Samsung Galaxy S7 isn’t expected to hit store shelves until March 2016. Rumors have it, however, that this model is going to be both sleeker and stronger than any of its predecessors. In fact, one rumor even claims that the company has filed a trademark request for Turtle Glass glass cover that is revolutionary in this industry. Turtle Glass is expected to provide an ultra-strong display protection that trumps the efficacy of the Corning Gorilla glass that was used by Samsung in its past Galaxy models. Contrary to these rumors, however, there isn’t any sure guarantee that this new protective technology will be ready for use before these phones roll out in March. If it is, however, buyers can certainly look forward to fewer cracked screens and other impact-related problems.
Magnesium-Based Alloys For Greater Strength
Until marketing is kicked into effect and Samsung officially announces the newest features for the Galaxy S7, there is little more than hearsay, but all of the information that is being kicked out rumor mills is certainly interesting. In addition to Turtle Glass, Samsung is said to be experimenting with a magnesium-based alloy that will make its phones far stronger than ever before. Not only will this alloy make the device stronger, but it will allow for the more efficient escape of heat as well, so that the device does not overheat. This latest version is set to release February 2016 and will include:
- A 5.7″ display
- Dual camera set-up
- One version powered by the Exynos M1 chipset
- One version powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC
The LG G5
As has long been the norm for LG, rather than sticking to the standard combination of metal and glass, LG phones commonly include both leather and plastic elements. Many consumers are hoping that the LG G5 will veer away from this self-imposed convention with an all metal and glass body that is just as sleek, lightweight and aesthetically-appealing as those of other phones in its class. The predominant rumor concerning the LG G5 is that it will have a built-in eye scanner for recognizing the user by his or her eyes only. Given that this technology is guaranteed to become common in smartphones in the future, it isn’t surprising to think that LG might be the innovator in this area and lead the way. What is known about this model is that it will have a number of impressive specs including:
- 4000 mAH battery that offers a longer battery life than previous versions
- 10MP front camera
- 20MP back camera
- A 5.6″ flexible display
- True HD IPS w/4K resolution
- Up to 128 GB storage
- 4 GB DDR5 RAM
- 3 GHz Hexa-Core processor
HTC One M10
Limited success for the HTC One M9 model is rumored to be the reason why so little information is available about the M10 version. It is also suspected to be the reason the actual release date for this new smartphone 2016 has been delayed. It is known, however, that the HTC One M10 will have wireless charging capabilities that are not unlike those of the Samsung G6. This model will also come with added built-in memory for additional storage and boast a sleek, waterproof design for extra durability.
It is additionally rumored that the HTC One M10 will instead be called the HTC 02, a designation that will set it apart from the M9 version and that indicates a fresh and innovative approach to HTC phone designs. Consumers can look forward to:
- Larger screen sizes at 6″
- A 1440×2560 at 490 dpi QHD resolution
- Less overheating with a shift to the Snapdragon 820 processor
- 4GB RAM and up to 128 GB in memory
- 5 MP front camera
- The latest Android 6 Marshmallow
This phone will also have a sleek, metal casing with inconspicuous edges. According to the Android Pit, the HTC One M10 or the HTC 02 will be announced in February 2016 at the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona.
